2024 Huckleberry Fest Bands and Performances

5:00 – 5:45 p.m.   Harmony of the Gorge

Our chorus celebrated our 40th anniversary in 2023. We are at a crossroads in the life of our chorus — and that’s a good thing!  We can go straight forward and continue doing things like we’ve done in the past — or we can turn left or right and see what surprises await.
What does that really mean? It still will mean having fun singing together — but with new songs and more singers.

  • New music.  We do have many favorites from the past that we love to sing — but it’s time to get NEW songs to perform this summer.  So finding and learning new music that we will enjoy singing will be top of our list.
  • Arrangements:  Yes, we sing “barbershop style” … but that is by no means “old fashioned” or “out of date” — in fact, it’s quite the opposite!  New fantastic barbershop arrangements are being written for many of the popular songs we all enjoy.
  • Finding more women to sing with us.  Women with high, medium, or low ranges…. we welcome you all!

6:00 – 7:30 p.m.   Ben Bonham, Ronnie & Ortlieb

From 1992, I played constantly in bands, duo’s, and as a solo performer both here and in the UK until 2019 when late nights and touring started to get in the way of my instrument work.

8:00 – 11:00 p.m.   Chicken $#it Gamblers

Mysterious and uncool, the Chicken $#!t Gamblers reject conformity and curb appeal in favor of ludicrousness and frivolity. Armed only with stringed instruments, internal metronomes and a thesaurus, the unhinged and raunchy gang of miscreants spread, weird, pseudo-traditional, originally crafted bluegrass tunes, with a dash of old-timey gospel, vintage Shakedown Street vibes, country sass and deep, $#!t-yer-pants intergalactic improvisation. No genre is safe from their reign of audacity. Biologically grown, woodshed cultivated, scientifically inspired, emotionally attached, filthy and kind bluegrass inspired stuffing for your sound holes.

For over four decades Whiskey River’s musicians have thrilled audiences all over America playing the music of the legendary southern-rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd. Re-creating the image and the music of the southern rock band that took the world by storm in the 1970’s. Whiskey River not only plays Lynyrd Skynyrd, they personify the group onstage. Through their serious and tireless commitment to the original Ronnie Van Zandt era Lynyrd Skynyrd, they have deconstructed and reconstructed every detail of every part of every song from the original bands recordings. Their 30+ year history of phenomenal performances have earned them the title: “America’s #1 Lynyrd Skynyrd Tribute Band”. Their show is primarily a re-presentation of the multi-platinum album: “One More From The Road” and “Freebird The Movie”. The show is also augmented by several classics from the original band’s last album “Street Survivors” . Whiskey River’s Tribute brings the audience back in time thirty-five years as they blaze through Skynyrd classics like Sweet Home Alabama, Gimme Three Steps, The Breeze, That Smell, What’s Your Name, Saturday Night Special and many more, plus their phenomenal note-for-note version of Lynyrd Skynyrd’s live guitar opus “Freebird”.
