Fresh Huckleberries in Bingen, Washington

Our huckleberries do come from our local forests. While we predict when they will be ripe, there are about 13 varieties of huckleberries in our region. Some do ripen sooner than others. The temperatures that year and the rainfall will impact the crops. Hand picking huckleberries is a tedious and fairly slow process, which is why they are expensive. However, most people agree after tasting a good huckleberry pie, that the cost is worth it!

I hope you enjoy everything huckleberry at Bingen, Washington’s Huckleberry Festival each year the weekend following Labor Day.
