Fun Stuff for Kids At Huckleberry Festival

Join us for family fun events in Daubenspeck Park!

While there will be ongoing entertainment and options like the Bouncy Houses throughout the weekend,

we also have some specific events for youth.

 

Friday 5 – 6:30PM Rattle Can Art Contest  – Please Read Official Rules

Where spray paint meets imagination! Watch as bold bursts of color transform into stunning street-style masterpieces right before your eyes. From cosmic landscapes to abstract flair, Rattle Can Art brings high-energy creativity to life using only spray cans, stencils, and a whole lot of talent Come see art in action!

 

Saturday 11 AMParade – All Are Welcome!

No float? No problem! Whether you’re walking, biking, pulling a wagon, or riding in style—we want you in the parade! This is your chance to join the fun and represent your family, business, group, or just yourself. Feeling festive? Show your Huckleberry spirit and wear purple from head to toe! Wigs, tutus, face paint, hats, and capes—go as bold (or as berry) as you like! Let’s fill the street with community pride, big smiles, and plenty of purple!

 

Saturday 1pm Pie in Face 

The challenge is on! Be the first to find the hidden huckleberry in the whipped cream pie, using only your mouth – no hands allowed. This fun activity is open to ages 12 and up, with registration limited to the first 50 participants. Winner will receive a piece of PIE/ICE CREAM!

 

Saturday 1:30pm Three Legged Race

A fun, silly race where pairs of players tie one leg together and run side by side toward the finish line—lots of laughs, teamwork, and a few tumbles guaranteed!

 

Saturday 2:00pm Children’s Coin Dig

Get ready to dig for treasure! In this hands-on game, kids dive into a big pile of soft sawdust to search for hidden coins using only their hands. It’s a fun and exciting way to feel like a real treasure hunter! Whether you’re scooping, sifting, or digging deep, every coin you find is a reward. Perfect for curious little explorers who love to get their hands dirty and discover hidden treasures!

 

Saturday 2:30pm Watermelon Eating Contest

Contestants line up with big slices of juicy watermelon and race to finish them as fast as they can—no forks, no knives, just faces full of sticky sweetness. The first to clean their slice down to the rind wins, with plenty of laughter and watermelon smiles along the way! 

 

Saturday 3:00pm Hula Hoop Challenge –

Participants step into the hoop and see who can keep it spinning the longest! It’s a lively, high-energy contest full of wiggles, spins, and laughter as hoops twirl around waists, arms, or even legs. The last one with their hoop still going is crowned the champion!

 

Saturday 3:30pm Egg Race

Pairs of players toss raw eggs back and forth, stepping farther apart with each successful catch. The challenge is to keep the egg from breaking—lots of suspense, laughter, and the occasional splat! 

 

 

Saturday 7:00PM – Jordan Reptiles – A Crowd Favorite!


(Well… most of the crowd, anyway!) 
Back by popular demand, Jordan Reptiles brings an up-close look at some scaly, slithery stars! From snakes to lizards to turtles, it’s a fascinating and fun experience for animal lovers of all ages.

Note: We know this time is a little late—but for the safety of our reptile friends, they’ll be appearing during cooler hours. They don’t do well in the heat of the day, and we want to keep them happy and healthy!
